Tel Aviv, on the Mediterranean Coast of Israel, is the country’s most up-and-coming holiday destination. There is a range of fabulous beaches to choose from, each with its own personality and crowd. Thanks to its growing gay community, Tel Aviv is also known for having one of the best gay beaches in the world, which offers a vibrant and fun atmosphere (and of course you get to appreciate the eye candy!). In the evening, a good pampering session in your hotel Spa and Wellness Centre will wash away any stress, so you can return from your holidays fully recharged.
Travel from London to Tel Aviv and visit every sun worshipper’s dream destination. It offers lively and dynamic beaches, perfect for a few hours of sporting fun, as well as more chilled beaches ideal for an afternoon spent reading a book. So not matter what mood you’re in, you’re guaranteed to find a place to top up your tan.
Gordon Beach
Gordon beaches is centrally located, right opposite the Sheraton Hotel.
About Gordon Beach
Gordon Beach is one of Tel Aviv’s busiest beaches- and with good reason. With an inviting saltwater swimming pool and green lawns to lounge on, as well as volleyball courts and restaurants, it is the ideal combination of activity and relaxation. In the evening, let loose with a few drinks, before being swept onto the dancefloor by the DJ’s great tunes.
Hilton Beach
Appropriately named after the Hilton Hotel just above it, Hilton Beach is a great place to soak in some vitamin D.
About Hilton Beach
Affectionately known as Tel Aviv’s ‘gay strip of sand’, this beach is perfect for every occasion. If you fancy a relaxing afternoon, its seclusion provides a more tranquil atmosphere than other beaches. Or, if you’re in a more adventurous mood, you can also take windsurfing or kayaking classes. Personally, I fancy an afternoon tasting the local cuisine at one of the many restaurants.
Banana Beach
Situated just north of Dolphinarium, to the right of the ancient Jaffa and left of the modern hotels, you’ll find that Banana Beach has a more relaxed and fun atmosphere than the boisterous central beaches.
About Banana Beach
Banana beach attracts both the local and foreign crowds with its Café, umbrella-covered chairs and surf school. One of its best features though, is the swanky Clara bar and club. A great place to enjoy a refreshing drink, you can spend a chilled afternoon overlooking the sea with a stunning view of Jaffa’s skyline.
Alma Beach
You’ll find Alma Beach cosily nestled between the Dolphinarium and Jaffa.
About Alma Beach
If you want to spend a quiet afternoon reading a book and basking in the glow of the sunshine, Alma Beach is the place for you. With no sunbeds or lifeguards, it is less crowded, so there’s plenty of space to spread out on your towel. The beach also offers a great view of Jaffa.
Gay Beach
Neighbouring Hilton Beach, you can spot Gay Beach thanks to its rows of colourful rainbow umbrella.
About Gay Beach
As the gay community’s honeypot, this beach is one of Tel Aviv’s liveliest places. Filled with open-minded people of all sexual orientations, it is great place to make new acquaintances and enjoy a terrific atmosphere.
How to Get to Tel Aviv
Both British Airways and El Al offer a direct five-hour flight from London to Tel Aviv Ben Gurion International Airport from £380. Word of warning though, El Al doesn’t fly during Shabbat (Friday evening or Saturday). You can then book a private shuttle transfer and have a friendly driver pick you up from outside the terminal to take you to your hotel.
As Israel is not connected to the rest of Europe by rail, flying is the easiest option, though you can also travel there by boat. We also offer transfers from the main ports, including Eilat and Haifa.
