3 Ways to Get Out On the Water in Kavos

Kavos is a lively resort on the southern coast of the stunning Greek island of Corfu. Its days as a sleepy fishing village are long gone, and today Kavos is a thriving holiday destination, popular with fun-loving young tourists from the UK and Europe intent on squeezing on as much fun as they can handle! The nightlife of Kavos is legendary and there’s no doubt the main beachfront strip is party central as the sun goes down, but during the day there’s a very different kind of fun on offer – and, as is to be expected, most of it takes place out on the water.

Sail Away to Paxos

The crystalline turquoise ocean around Corfu is nothing short of breath-taking and there are plenty of sailing charters out of Kavos. One of the best excursions is a day trip including a stop off on neighbouring Paxos, to visit the famous blue caves. Paxos, a picturesque island covered with olive and cypress groves, is around 30 minutes’ leisurely cruise from Kavos. After hugging the rugged coastline, you’ll sail right inside the incredible sea caves, where the water looks like something out of a movie. After leaving Paxos, you can continue on to Antipaxos and down to the cape of Asprokavos before heading back to Kavos in the evening, relaxed, sun-tanned and ready to resume partying!

Diving, Donuts and More

The five miles of Kavos Beach are a haven for water sports enthusiasts. For those with the energy left over from a late night, the choice is extensive. The Ionian Sea is ideal for diving – there’s a great local dive centre, where even beginners are well catered for – but for just kicking back with some light hearted thrills and spills there’s jet-skiing, motor boat hire, windsurfing, para-gliding and banana boat and donut ring riding!

Aqualand

As one of the largest aqua parks in Europe, you can bet there’s plenty of action to be had on the water slides at Aqualand. You can buy tickets that include coach travel to and from the water park and it makes for a fabulous day out for the young, old or hung-over!

Booze Cruise

Speaking of which, one of the most popular water sports in Kavos is the one we’ve left until last. The famous booze cruises of Kavos are definitely not for the faint hearted or straight laced. However, if an entire day spent out on a boat with a couple of hundred of your closest new best friends, drinking, swimming, eating, playing games and dancing to top Djs sounds appealing, a Kavos booze cruise is just what you’ve been looking for!

There are plenty of other ways to get out on the water if you’re on a holiday based in Kavos, but if all this sounds too energetic, there’s always a snooze on the beach to keep you busy.
