Rome: 22 March
For those looking for an alternative to Spain for an early spring run then look no further than Rome.
Although Italy’s capital is well known as the ‘City of the Seven Hills’, the course is surprisingly flat and is popular amongst novice runners, as well as seasoned marathon experts.
Nevertheless, cobblestones are a significant feature of the race so make sure you are prepared for this.
The course begins and ends at the world famous Coliseum and is especially appealing to beginners due to its generous cut off time of seven hours, an hour longer than many others.
How to get there
Shuttledirect serve both of Rome’s airports, Ciampino and Fiumicino, to give you a smooth and comfortable ride to the Eternal City’s central parts.
