Planning a lads’ holiday with your mates? There’s no better place than Crete’s party capital. Malia is a very popular holiday destination among British lads – and you will see why!
Malia, a coastal town in Crete, Greece, is one of Europe’s biggest party scenes. A bustling beach town by day, it transforms into a clubber’s paradise at night. There are loads of great value eateries to enjoy and dozens of cheap bars to get drunk in. Malia also offers some top-class clubs. Don’t miss any of the ‘it’ places. Here are a few tips on where to go to make it a holiday worth remembering (even if you can’t!).
Line Your Stomach
Whether you’re looking to line your stomach before a boozed-up night, or you need some greasy fast food to sober up the next day, Malia’s restaurants cater to your needs.
Beach Road- Before you hit the bars, make sure you’ve got something in your stomach… and what’s better than a meaty feast at Malia’s best Grill House?! You’re bound to love Beach Road’s sizzling steak.
Red Lion – Had too much fun last night? The Red Lion is the perfect hangover cure. With a homey atmosphere and good old-fashioned pub food, its greasy burgers and well-stuffed pies will help soak up the booze.
Gringos – Did someone say shots? Get the party started with Gringos’ epic Tequila moments! After wolfing down a massive Mexican meal (the portions are huge!), take on the Tequila Challenge. See how many shots you can do as everyone around chants ‘One Tequila, Two Tequila, Three Tequila, Floor!’.
Insider Tip: Their menu is great and their Chimichanga will blow your mind!
Get a Few In
Get ready to get smashed! Kick-off the party with some cheap drinks at any one of these great bars. They’ll psyche you up for a big night out on the town.
Zoo Bar- Their famous cocktails will get you hammered. There are 40 different concoctions to choose from, as well as beers and ciders, shooters and spirits. When you feel the buzz, let loose on the open roof dancefloor.
Premier Bar – Up for a laugh? Come and belt out your favourite party anthems on Premier Bar’s very own karaoke machine. There’s something for everyone, from 70s music up to today’s chart hits.
Insider Tip: If listening to your mates’ croaky voices singing off key doesn’t keep you entertained, the sexy bar staff will certainly make up for it!
Help Bar – If you’re looking to get plastered, this is the place to be. Inventors of the FishBowl Cocktail, the drinks here are more like fish tanks. It’s a wild nightguaranteed, especially with the swimming pool at the back of the bar (mad, right?) and a DJ playing some banging tunes.
Hit the Dance Floor
When out with the lads, you’ll inevitably end up in a club (or stumble into one!). Make sure you don’t miss the best venues.
Candy Club – Unleash the party beast at Malia’s biggest and busiest Club. It not only has three bars and two dancing stages, but Candy Club’s amazing sound system pounds out House and Electro music all night long.
Insider Tip: There’s a different theme each night, from Glow Party to Silent Disco.
Zig Zag – You can’t go wrong with Zig Zag. Its eye grabbing light show and brilliant tunes give it one of the best atmospheres in Malia.
Coyotes Club – At this club, Coyote Ugly meets Indie music – and it’s epic! Blaring out White Lies, Kings of Leon and Arctic Monkeys’ tracks, there’s no place quite like it.
Camelot Castle Club – It wouldn’t be a lads’ holiday without a foam party! Camelot Castle has a mad foam machine and 5 bars you won’t want to miss.
