Los Cristianos on a Budget

Looking to treat the family to sun-sea-and-sand this summer? Looking to treat the family to sun-sea-and-sand this summer? Finding the right destination can be tricky on a tight budget – you do not want to end up somewhere overcrowded, but equally you do not want to spend a fortune in a luxury area.

Los Cristianos may not be known as the most budget-friendly area of Tenerife (for this you will want to look in the north of the island), but if you are seeking golden sandy beaches and luxurious facilities then I have a few suggestions for affordable family-friendly hotels on the south east coast.

The gorgeous beaches, lively promenade, cool harbour and great variety of shops, bars and restaurants make this a fantastic destination with a cool atmosphere throughout.

Consider any of these hotels to keep your costs down:

GF Isabel

Just 600 metres from the fabulous Fañabé Beach in central Adeje, GF Isabel is designed with young families in mind thanks to its “village-style” structure and facilities. The complex, which consists of affordable villas, bungalows and apartments, features plenty to keep the little ones (and mum and dad!) entertained.

The kids can enjoy the miniclub, playground, well-equipped leisure centre and children’s pool, plus there is a babysitter service for times that you want a bit of peace and quiet (or a few drinks!). For adults, GF Isabel features a further two pools (one large family pool and a quieter one) and a wellness centre where you can enjoy some pampering. It also has sports and fitness facilities and a buffet restaurant serving a variety of delicious food throughout the day. There are also a few cool bars for a well-earned drink after a day of exploring, plus daytime and evening entertainment suitable for the whole family.

The rooms have a balcony, free Wi-Fi and a kitchen – this helps to keep food costs down (there is also a mini supermarket onsite). Crucially, this property is rated for best value in Adeje, so it is ideal for those on a tight budget.

Tinerfe Gardens

Conveniently located a 5-minute walk from Puerto Colón Beach and only 50 yards from a handful of shops, bars and restaurants, Tinerfe Gardens is excellent value for money whilst also placing you in an ideal location.

The complex has a swimming pool and sun lounger area with a pool bar, or you can chill out in its peaceful green spaces. The studios and apartments each feature an individual terrace, as well as a living room with satellite TV and a kitchenette. It is, essentially, a fully-equipped apartment which is ideal for any family looking to keep costs down on their holiday. The apartments are surprisingly spacious for their price and many guests comment highly on the cleanliness of the entire complex – something that any parent with youngsters will appreciate!

Kanarischen Inseln

Apartamentos Alondras Park

Apartamentos Alondras Park is a large, stylish and welcoming complex but also fantastic value for your money. You are well-situated in the town of Las Galletas and just a 5-minute walk from the beach, but equally Alondras Park has more than enough to keep you entertained onsite.

Each apartment (up to 2 bedrooms) comes with a large lounge area and balcony (overlooking the pools), a fully-equipped kitchen, private bathroom and a television. Outside, you have an enormous area with 3 inviting pools (1 for children) each surrounded by sunbeds. It also features a charming pool bar complete with a terrace. On the terrace, you can enjoy many different snacks and beverages (top tip – get down there for Happy Hour between 15:00 and 18:00!). There is also a reasonably priced onsite restaurant specialising in chicken dishes, or a supermarket if you want to eat in.

How to Get to Los Cristianos

I know that travelling with small children can be tough, but getting to Los Cristianos is pretty straightforward. You will want to fly into Tenerife South (TFS) airport from London, which takes around 4 hours and is served by plenty of budget carriers, including Monarch Airlines, easyJet and Ryanair.

Fortunately, Los Cristianos is just a 20-minute drive across the southern tip of the island from the airport. The easiest way to complete this journey is by pre-booking a Shuttle Direct transfer. You could opt for a bus or shared transfer to save cash, but if you require child seats then be sure to book a private transfer (this will not cost much due to the short distance).

About Shuttle Direct:

Travelling between destinations can be a real challenge, particularly with small children. Shuttle Direct provide easy, fast and affordable passage between airports, hotels, train stations and other areas of interest throughout Europe. Thanks to their reliable service, they are deemed one of the continent’s leading transfer providers.

Use our simple online booking form to arrange your fixed price private or shared transfer today and someone will be waiting to pick you up at the airport.
