As Time Out once phrased it, the island of Ibiza is ‘arguably the Clubbing Capital of the Universe’. Well, you’ll hear no disagreement from us! This Spanish island lives up to (and even surpasses) its reputation as party central, and has long drawn young revellers from all over the world.
If you’re coming to Ibiza for the first time, the nearly endless options for partying and clubbing can be overwhelming. Not to mention, new venues on this lively island come and go with startling speed. To get you started on your Ibiza holiday, we offer our list of well-established island institutions. Any of these famous spots is sure to make your evening out a night to remember.
Naturally, no trip to Ibiza is complete without a trip to the beach. Check out our favourite spots here!
Top Nightlife Spots
Liquido Cocktail Bar, Santa Eulalia del Rio
Situated right next to the marina, this is a great spot for casual cocktails before you begin the night in earnest. The imaginative (and generous) cocktails here are well-priced, and the staff are always friendly. The outdoor patio allows for excellent views of the luxury yachts coming in and out of the harbour.
Café Mambo, San Antonio
Come here around sunset and you’re certain to find this Ibiza institution packed with young people prepping for a big night out. Café Mambo hosts daily pre-parties featuring world-famous DJs, so there’s always something going on. An excellent place to get the party started as the sun goes down, Café Mambo also serves dinner – but be sure to make reservations, as this place is very popular.
Dunes, Playa d’en Bossa
Another excellent spot to start winding up for the night, Dunes is one of the largest bars along the Playa d’en Bossa strip. It’s impossible to miss as it’s draped in camo netting and fronted by two enormous flaming torches, so grab a table and a few drinks and feel the Ibiza vibe.
Space, Playa d’en Bossa
This thumping superclub in the heart of Playa d’en Bossa is internationally famous for its wild electronic dance music parties. It’s also known for its daytime clubbing and Sunday sessions, which begin at 4:30pm on Sunday afternoon and go until 6:00am on Monday morning.
Ushuaïa, Playa d’en Bossa
Located on the beach directly opposite Space (how convenient!), this hotel and nightclub venue has made a name for itself with its huge DJs, elaborate stage production and light, and its stylish dancers. The outdoor venue opens between 3pm and 5pm, so go on the early side and enjoy the party while the sun is still setting.
Pacha, Ibiza Town
Arguably Ibiza’s best-known club, Pacha has been part of the island’s nightlife scene since 1973. It’s known for its cherry logo, its VIP tables and for hosting the top names in electronic music. Expect steep cover charges at the door, so buy your tickets well in advance.
How to Get to Ibiza
The nightlife in Ibiza may be out of this world, but the island itself isn’t far away. Flights from the London area to Ibiza airport take only two and a half hours – meaning you can go from real life to paradise in the space of an afternoon! Check airlines such as Ryanair, easyJet, and Monarch for great-value flights to Ibiza.
Once you’ve landed, get your holiday started off right – beginning with your transportation. If you’ve pre-booked your Ibiza airport transfer ahead of time, you can jump straight into a waiting vehicle and get the party started.
Where to Stay:
Hostal Marino – Located in Ibiza’s second-largest town, San Antonio, this chilled-out guesthouse is in prime position for accessing not one but four beaches, as well as the town’s pulsing nightlife scene. Opt for the triple room if you and your mates are looking for a comfortable, good-value home base for your party-packed stay.
Ryans Ibiza Apartments – When your accommodation is billed as ‘adults only’, you know this is where the party’s at! This always-buzzing apartment complex is set just a few metres back from the beach in Ibiza town. The staff here is excellent at anticipating your needs – just ask them to arrange tickets for clubs, boat trips, or other activities. Breakfast here is served until 1:00, because let’s be real – you’re not waking up before noon.
Ibiza Corso Hotel and Spa – Looking for a bit more luxury? Consider this four-star hotel right next to Marina Botafoch Harbour. Featuring three pools, two restaurants, a sprawling fitness centre, seven bars, and a nightclub, you might not ever feel the need to leave!
