Expensive Hotels

Whilst there are a handful of expensive hotels to choose from, I think that there is really only one option if you want the crème de la crème: Hotel & Chalet Aurelio. With its ski-in-ski-out location and scenic views of the whole village, this hotel exudes comfort and luxury. You may find it a struggle to pull yourself away and leave for the pistes each day!

Previous guests have commented that staying here feels much more like staying in a private residence than in a hotel, which is thanks to the excellent design and homey feel that spreads through the traditional wooden buildings. The spacious and well-equipped rooms have elegant decorations and balconies that provide lovely mountain views.

In addition to a snug interior with cosy rooms, this accommodation has an incredible list of services and facilities. The spa has herbal steam rooms, a large pool, saunas, treatment rooms and more, whilst the chalet has its own spa and cinema room, a chimney room and even a private butler! This is the ideal place for recharging your batteries, indulging in good food and drink and hitting the slopes.

Fine Dining

You are spoilt for choice when it comes to food in Lech, but the gourmet restaurant at Hotel & Chalet Aurelio is fabulous for times that you don’t feel like going out. The tantalising delicacies have an international feel, but are created with Austrian products by the award-winning chef Christian Rescher. You can enjoy these wonderful dishes and a few glasses of wine from the extensive list on the stunning sundeck, which offers unparalleled views over the village, or in front of the roaring fireplace in the elegant Licca Lounge.

Along with the world-class restaurant in your hotel, I also recommend checking out the Griggeler Stuba in the nearby resort of Burg Vital. Here you can enjoy an unforgettable dining experience with a focus on natural. What’s more, this takes place within a swanky yet inviting dining room and elegant ambience.

Skiing

Of course, skiing is a huge reason for coming to Lech, too. The exclusive Arlberg skiing area boasts a whopping 305 kilometres of slopes and 200 kilometres of Alpine deep powder snow runs. There are also 87 cable cars and lifts, including the newly opened Flexenbahn gondola, which connects Lech-Zürs with St. Anton am Arlberg.

The variety ensures that there are skiing opportunities that are suitable for every skill level, and enough pistes to keep you entertained and challenged every single day. It is never crowded, so you are free to ski in peace and enjoy the sublime views.

How to Get There

To reach Lech, you will want to fly from London into Innsbruck Airport. This will take just under two hours, and there are four airlines that offer direct flights every week. Innsbruck is 120 kilometres from the resort, so you will want to arrange transportation in advance. Shuttle Direct offers a transfer service from the airport to the resort, which is the quickest and most convenient way to make the trip, and the vehicles can accommodate all of your gear with ease. The drive should take around two hours, giving you time to sit back, enjoy the views and start planning your holiday at this exclusive resort.
