If you’re anything like me, you like to have a lot of completely different activities on your holiday itinerary – and you want to learn something while you’re enjoying them. Lying on the beach every day for a week is fun for some, but for those who are looking for a little more culture and a lot more interactivity, I recommend a transfer with Shuttle Direct from Palma de Mallorca Airport to Alcúdia. 1. Bodegas José L. Ferrer Winery

Ferrer himself, this winery has been passed down through four generations and, to this day, it is still run by the family. They offer a multitude of visits, wine and food tastings and guided tours of the winery, as well as the option to host your own event. Although you won’t have a chance to stop on your journey, Bodegas José L. Ferrer is a great destination to return to for wine and history lovers alike, as well as those who like supporting local businesses (not to mention, there’s no better souvenir than a bottle of wine from their onsite shop).
Recommended Visit Time: It depends whether you’re just popping in to check out their store or if you’re doing a full visit and wine tasting – on average, however, I would recommend scheduling at least a couple of hours.
2. Inca Footwear and Leather Museum
The next destination you’ll speed by on your way from Palma de Mallorca Airport to Alcúdia is Inca Footwear and Leather Museum. This fascinating institution is dedicated to the history and development of the city of Inca’s leather production industry, and includes a permanent exhibition of tools, techniques and machinery. The art and artefacts are housed in what was originally an army infantry quarter, but was renovated into the museum it is today in 2010.
For those looking for a cultural insight into Inca, Inca Footwear and Leather Museum is a unique place to return to when you have the time to properly enjoy all the knowledge it has to offer.
Recommended Visit Time: Give yourself enough time to wander around and see everything you can – a few hours, at the very least.
3. Fundación Vida Silvestre Mediterránea Wildlife Foundation
With wineries and leather fading into the distance, you may be craving something a little more natural – luckily, the next attraction you’ll be passing by as you travel from Palma de Mallorca Airport to Alcúdia should satiate that desire. Fundación Vida Silvestre Mediterránea (FVSM) is a wildlife foundation working to conserve and recover biodiversity in the Mediterranean, especially the Balearic Islands. They also work to maintain rural traditions and development, and to promote volunteerism, land stewardship, responsible ecotourism and environmental education.
If you’re someone who is interested in nature or biodiversity in the Mediterranean, you are welcome to return for a visit to their Vulture Centre and Observatory (they are particularly concerned with the conservation of the Mallorcan black vulture) for more information.

4. Andrés Jofre Ferrer House Museum
The last site on your way from Palma de Mallorca Airport to Alcúdia is quite near your final destination, so it won’t be difficult for you to come back at another time to visit the Andrés Jofre Ferrer House Museum. The namesake of this museum, Andrés Jofre Ferrer, was a poet and a painter and this gallery showcases his written and visual art.
His paintings range from abstract art to renditions of the countryside; his poetry is romantic. The building itself is a repurposed Mallorcan house, so you will also have the opportunity to see accommodation typical of the area. Art and word lovers (and even those who are interested in architecture) should definitely take the time to return and see all Andrés Jofre Ferrer House Museum has to offer.
Recommended Visit Time: Allot a few hours for painting-gazing, poetry-reading and general art-basking.
From Palma de Mallorca Airport to Alcúdia
It only takes two and a half hours to get from London to Mallorca, and the journey from Palma de Mallorca Airport to Alcúdia is even shorter than that – only 45 minutes. Yet you’re still passing by a plethora of diverse attractions, with everything from art museums to wildlife foundations (and I just know you’ll be returning to the winery – I certainly would). After this transfer, there’s no way your holiday itinerary won’t be sorted.
