Taormina lies on the north coast of Sicily and is considered to be a rather glitzy town compared to many of its rural neighbours. Perched high on the cliff tops, Taormina boasts a stunning vantage point and an incredible Greek amphitheatre.

La Bourganville
This place is perfect if you are looking for good food at a reasonable price. It is unpretentious in every way but serves delicious food freshly cooked and prepared with care and attention. The décor inside is typical of southern Italy, the welcome very friendly, the food excellent and the price surprisingly low. You will find this place opposite the public park in town
Ristorante al Duomo
This charming little eatery serves excellent local food prepared to a very high standard. Fish and meat dishes are beautifully cooked and are presented with little fuss. This place’s reputation is built on the quality of its ingredients and the combination of flavours. If you are a couple looking for a romantic night out, phone before you go and ask for the table on the balcony.
Licchios
This little gem is ideal if you have children. There is a garden inside where you can dine all year round. The food is good and whether you have pasta, pizza or a grilled fish, you will not be disappointed. The atmosphere is very relaxed and children are made to feel very welcome.
Principe Cerami
This is one of the Michelin-starred restaurants in town and the chef here creates wonderful and rather refined Sicilian dishes. There is a beautiful outdoor terrace with tables and a great panoramic view. What better way to enjoy fabulous food?
Pasticceria Etna
And finally we wanted to tell you about this special little place; a cake shop that has that something extra. We love the ‘te fredo’, the cold tea served with a ball of lemon sorbet, but the ‘torta di mandorla’ (almond cake) is also excellent.
