Beauregard
Beauregard is a beautiful spot close La Clusaz and it’s the perfect place to practice your Nordic skiing. Boasting spectacular views around every corner, this area has eight pistes that are accessed by a gondola lift that leaves from right in the heart of the village
Important Info
- There are 36kms of tracks.
- Access from the village is by cable car or by shuttle bus from the Col de La Croix Fry.
- There is a First Aid station and picnic area on the slopes.
Confins Area
This award winning area holds the “4 Nordiques” award and is located overlooking the Confins Lake. It is the most famous area in the Haute Savoie for Nordic skiing, primarily because it is the largest. There are 13 pistes here that take in more than 50kms of stunning landscape and accommodate areas suitable for all abilities.
For families with smaller kids, there is a children’s snow garden, as well as a Nordic Ski Park and a Nordic cross for the more adventurous alternative skier.

- There are ten instructors on hand here, and some are English speaking.
- There is a 5% discount on group lessons for all classes that take place during the Christmas and half term February holidays, as long as you book before December 15th.
- When booking a package of six group lessons, you’re entitled to a 10% discount on a half-day snowshoeing.

How to Get to La Clusaz
The closest airport to La Clusaz is Geneva (GVA) and, luckily for winter sports enthusiasts, it is an airport well served by flights from the UK. With several airlines providing regular daily services to Geneva, you certainly have plenty of choice. British Airways and easyJet are among the most popular carriers and both offer competitive fares.

Where to Stay
Le Vieux Chalet – This chalet style hotel is a real gem. With ski-to-door access, making your return home at the end of the day super easy, it is a firm favourite among winter sports lovers. Télémix du Bossonnet is just a mile from Le Vieux Chalet, as is Grenêche.
The shared lounge is perfect when you fancy mingling with the other guests and getting some tips on the best places to ski. I really appreciated the ski pass sales point and the ski hire facility at the hotel, because it means there is no queuing on the first morning of your stay. This is especially useful when you’re travelling with the family.
There’s no need to waste precious baggage space on hairdryers as every room has one, and the continental breakfast is hearty and wholesome, setting you up for a long day on the slopes. Some rooms even have an extra seating area, which is ideal when you want to spread out. If you need any information on where to go and what to do, the members of staff are very helpful.
Hotel Beauregard – I just love the atmosphere at this traditional hotel. It is cosy, warm and welcoming and the rooms boast wonderful views over the gorgeous resort or the Aravis Mountains. The spa facilities at Hotel Beauregard are a real highlight, and I can highly recommend the sauna or a hot tub after a long day skiing. There is also a heated indoor pool!
An excellent continental breakfast is served every day and the onsite restaurant serves very good locally inspired dishes for dinner. After indulging in a delightful Savoyarde meal, you can relax by the open fire in the bar and finish the night off with a cocktail or two.
