The Ultimate Stag Do in Prague

So, your best mate has decided to tie the knot and it is down to you to rally the troops for an unforgettable stag do. There are dozens of brilliant places for a messy weekend, but the city of Prague is one which stands out from the crowd thanks to its great beer, beautiful women, wild nightlife and relaxed attitude to stag parties. Sounds good, right? Here is all you need to know about this ultimate lads destination.

Activities

Of course, a good stag do is not all about bars, strip clubs and gambling (although there is plenty of that here too!). Prague has something for every taste in terms of activities so you are spoilt for choice in this very cool city. Shooting is one of the more popular stag activities and for good reason as it provides a thrill quite unlike anything else and is always a barrel of laughs with mates. For those who like to soak up a bit of culture and learn about their destination, a riverside cruise is the perfect way to take in the sights – if this sounds a tad dull, fear not as there are brilliant strip cruises with strippers onboard! Another popular stag activity that the lads are sure to love is stripper jelly wrestling – need I say more!?

Take a look at a few of Prague’s more unusual attractions here!

Pub Crawls

Prague is world famous for its cheerful and boisterous pubs which are ideal for a big night out with the boys or a daytime pub crawl. Fortunately, you are walking on a well-beaten path with many iconic crawls already existing that any group of booze-hounds will love trying to conquer.

The Tankovna Trial may just consist of four pubs, but they are all lively and cheap places which are well-suited to large groups as they all have a large traditional beer style hall. Additionally, these are all “Tank Pubs” – establishments that serve the freshest lagers as they are not sterilised at high temperatures. When this is combined with low prices, it guarantees for a messy time! These are the four pubs to visit:

  • Malostranská pivnice
  • U Rudolfina
  • U Zeleného Stromu
  • U Pinkasu

Alternatively, stagger in the footsteps of royalty along the Kings Way which is the path that royalty would take on the way to Prague Castle (this is also a good way to see the city’s highlights). There are plenty of top boozers along the way!

  • U Cerného Vola
  • U Sedmi Švábu
  • U Kocoura
  • U Glaubicu
  • Zlaty Strom

Strip Clubs

After a few cold ones, the next logical place to head will be a strip club. Prague is notorious for its adult industry, so strip clubs are as common as coffee shops here! Be warned, you may have to pay up to 600 CZK to get in and the drinks in these venues are more expensive than other establishments. Wenceslas Square is the place to be with the legendary Goldfingers strip joint – this club is known for extravagant shows and gorgeous girls. Other places to check out around the square include Darling Cabaret, which is more high end, and the relatively new nautical themed Captain Nemo.

Nightclubs

A nightclub will be the best place to end the night and you are spoilt for choice here. There are dozens of excellent and cool clubs in Prague, but, arguably, the two best for a stag do are Lavka and Karlovy Lazne.

Lavka – A huge four-floor club with different genres on each level and a built-in ice bar. This is a raucous party and if you are looking for, big, bold and loud then this is the place to head.

Karlovy Lazne – Open till 4am with modern dance music, beautiful dancing girls and awesome views across the river from the cool terrace, this club is always popular with stag dos and for good reason.

Where to Stay

Hotel Leon D’Oro: Brilliantly situated between Wenceslas Square and Old Town Square, this hotel is ideal for a stag group with comfortable rooms, a chilled atmosphere and free Wi-Fi in public areas.

Pension Tara: A good budget option, Pension Tara is a no thrills place which is ideal if you are simply looking for somewhere to crash out after a big night. It is a huge hotel with around 40 rooms and located right in the heart of Prague, so stumbling home each night shouldn’t be too challenging!

Pension Alabastr: Just a 5-minute walk from Wenceslas Square, Pension Alabastr’s rooms all come with a kitchenette which means that you can save money on food by eating meals in. It is basic but comfortable, affordable and in an ideal location.

How to Get There

Organising a group of lads is no easy feat, but Prague is easy to reach and should not cause you too much difficulty (although there is always one person!). Flights to Prague Airport (PRG) are under two hours from UK airports and you can find tickets for as little as £29 with the budget carriers.

Onwards travel can be a nightmare with a large group, which is why you will want to pre-book a Shuttle Direct transfer so that you can simply jump in the back and get your hotel. If you are looking to squeeze the pennies, a shared shuttle is a cheap way to get from the airport to the hotel.
