Soldeu is renowned these days as the most upmarket ski resort in the tiny Alpine country of Andorra, it is the perfect destination for beginners and intermediates, as well as those who consider good food as important as good snow.
Tapas is the go-to apres-ski grub for the locals, and there are a few bars and restaurants dotted around Soldeu that offer finger-licking good tapas at a very reasonable price. If you want to experience Andorrean food at its best, head to Taverna de la Iaia. This bar serves typical tapas, such as ‘patatas bravas’ and ‘pulpo a la gallega’, as well as great Rioja wine from as little as 2€ a glass.
Slightly more upbeat but with equally tasty food is La Caleta, which hosts live music and has wonderful, hearty tapas, as well as some of the friendliest servers in town. If you are visiting Soldeu anytime soon, make sure to stop by with plenty of room in your stomach and time to spare; you won’t want to leave!
