The waters in this area are fairly calm and there’s a wide choice of restaurants, cafes and bar on the promenade just behind the beach, in case you get peckish throughout the afternoon or fancy a cooling ice cream.
Another great way of spending the afternoon is to challenge your mates to take on a new water sports activity. Santa Ponsa Beach gives you the chance to go surfing, kayaking, scuba diving or water skiing. Personally, I think the banana-riding is a brilliant laugh (and a bit of an adrenaline rush!), but paragliding and jet skiing are definitely tempting, too.
If you just want to escape the bustling crowds, you can also head over to the Little Beach. Though there are fewer facilities here, it is family-friendly and perfectly safe. In fact, it might just be the perfect place for a game of beach volleyball with your friends.
Open-Air Markets
Santa Ponsa and its surrounding villages offer a range of traditional and craft markets. For typically Majorcan products, artisanal clothes and shoes, as well as fresh fruit, vegetables, fish and meat, you can go to Calvia village on a Monday morning, the Galatzó Estate on Tuesdays, or Son Ferrer on Fridays. Throughout the summer, there are also evening markets in Santa Ponsa, Palmanova, Magaluf and Peguera. Here local artists brighten up the streets with their crafts and plastic arts.
Top Tip: Make sure that your phone is well-charged so that you can take plenty of pictures. The colourful streets are very Instagramable.

Night Clubs, Bars and Pubs
To start off the night, you can either head over to one of the many disco bars or listen to some brilliant live bands in an Irish Pub. For some banging mainstream hits, Simply’s Disco Bar, Greenhills and Manhattans all have terrific and lively atmospheres that will get you grooving. If you fancy a live performance, though, Durty Nelly’s, Shamrock and Dicey Rilleys all host live bands every night. Alternatively, you can go to The Square in the district of the Costa de la Calma to see some of the best tribute acts and entertainers in Majorca.
Now ready to dance the night away, you and your mates can choose between Santa Ponsa’s three favourite nightclubs. Disco Inferno is a popular choice for large groups, while Fama attracts crowds in their twenties. Kitty O’Sheas in another great clubbing option, offering a wide range of cocktails and drinks.
The BCM Planet Dance and the Pirates Show in Magaluf
You can’t hit the town in Majorca and not go to Magaluf’s biggest nightclub, BCM Planet Dance. Its Pirates Show in particular makes for a spectacular night. With pirate duels and swordplay, as well as gymnastics and acrobatics tricks, it’s an action-filled night like nothing you’ll have seen before.
