Relaxed Ski Action at Morillon 1100

Morillon 1100 is a purpose built resort, a little above the village of Morillon. While the region has innumerable ski resorts, each with their own unique qualities, there are few resorts that are quite so family friendly, making Morillon 1100 perfect for families with children, or even for groups containing one or more adult beginners.

Atmosphere

As you may know from experience, some of the bigger resorts have a highly competitive, intense atmosphere. Whereas many skiers enjoy this and some even thrive on the competition and tension, that sort of atmosphere can often put off beginners and make it hard to feel comfortable enough making the mistakes and pratfalls inherent to the learning experience.

For this reason, beginners would be well-advised to head to Morillon 1100. The resort has a chilled, no-pressure atmosphere, allowing beginners to go at their own pace. In addition to this, the high number of beginner skiers at the resort means that beginners are always in good company.

Slopes

Morillon 1100 is notoriously easy to ski, and even provides nursery slopes for those taking to the snow for the first time. These nursery slopes are gentle and will allow beginners to get to grips with things without too much challenge. The resort also contains some green and blue runs for slightly more seasoned skiers to start on, or even for beginners to move onto as the holiday goes on.

Children are especially looked after at Morillon, as not only do they have access to the aforementioned nursery slopes, but they can also be supervised and looked after by the resort’s day care and nursery service. The same service also gives ski lessons to children aged three and older, giving them a kind, nurturing environment to start out skiing. This allows the more seasoned skiers in the family to enjoy the more difficult runs or even go off-piste, all the while having the peace of mind that comes with knowing that the littler members of the group are not only being looked after, but are also doing some skiing of their own.

Other Activities

Day after day of skiing can be taxing on beginners, and it’s also nice to have a selection of activities in case a member of the group discovers that skiing isn’t their thing. Fortunately, Morillon 1100 offers a whole range of activities, suitable for adults and children alike. Snow horse riding is a treat, especially for animal lovers and for holidaymakers who love the snow but aren’t so fond of skiing. Animal lovers will also have the opportunity to ride a sled drawn by horses or huskies, or to engage in ski joering, whereby they stand on a pair of skis and a horse drags them through the snow.

Those who prefer to move under their own steam but want to take a break from skiing can also try their hand at tobogganing and ice skating, or even take a snowshoe walk if they want to keep their feet planted on something solid.

How to Get to Morillon 1100

Morillon 1100 is served by Geneva Airport, but unfortunately there are no public transport links. You can drive via the A40, or look into Geneva airport ski transfers, either of which will take around an hour, crossing the Franco-Swiss border. Also bear in mind that you’ll have to pay a toll along the way.
