What to do in Ölüdeniz
Paragliding

Diving is also an extremely popular pastime whilst in this part of the world. Ölüdeniz has crystal clear waters that will glisten from the sunshine on the surface and provide excellent viewing opportunities below as the clarity remains even when you reach the depths of the ocean.

What to see in Ölüdeniz
Beaches
Needless to say, the number one attraction in, or nearby, Ölüdeniz is the beaches.
Around the bay of Ölüdeniz there are a host of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants, all befitting of one of Turkey’s finest beach resorts.
The sandy beach and the clear blue water will ensure that this place will remain long in the memory.
For a bit of a change, you may want to venture out a bit, just two kilometres mind you, to the beach of Kidrak, aka Paradise Beach.
In fact, it makes a nice walk from Ölüdeniz and is a much quieter beach than its more illustrious neighbour.
Alternatively, why not head for Butterfly Beach, which can only be accessed by boat from Ölüdeniz.
This beach has a restaurant to enjoy and the valley has fantastic nature to make this a truly secluded place to go to, away from the hub of Ölüdeniz.
Kayaköy (Levissi): an abandoned village
If you are looking for a cultural thing to do whilst in Ölüdeniz then why not try a visit to Kayaköy, also known as Levissi, where you will find the ruins of an ancient village.
The two churches, Kataponagia and Taxiarkis, are of particular notoriety, not least as they are the structures most intact.
Fethiye Museum
A little further afield, just under 10 kilometres from downtown Ölüdeniz, you will discover the museum of Fethiye. Here you will find pottery, jewellery and small statuary or votive stones from the ancient settlements of Tlos and Kaunos.
Some of the exhibits on show date back to almost 400BC and have been used to help decipher the Lycian language. Lycia was a region in Anatolia and known to history since the records of ancient Egypt.
The museum is surrounded by a garden which boasts numerous Lycian sarcophagi and Roman artefacts, many of which demonstrate early Christian symbols, such as angels.
