Ahh Magaluf. This Spanish pocket rocket has achieved legendary status and it’s no secret as to why. Sun – tick, plenty of it; fun – tick, tick, in endless supply; and activities to keep you busy enough to deserve a few (or more) well-earned beers in the evening – tick, tick and triple tick!
Magaluf is a favourite place for the lads to enjoy a bit of ‘Brits Abroad’ action and let their hair down (the nightlife strip Punta Balena can get pretty wild, in the best possible way!), but it’d be a pretty one-dimensional boys’ break if you didn’t take the chance to pack in as much ‘attraction action’ as you can as well!
Have a Ball With Paintball
There’s no better way to wash away the cobwebs of a big night out than by donning a dodgy helmet and some camo gear and shooting your mates with a few gallons of paint! Bunker Indoor Paintball arena is one of the largest of its kind in the country, and it’s a big boys’ dream come true. This awesome urban war zone is 5,000m2 of shoot-em-up adrenaline-packed fun, and you can choose from three different terrains to battle it out. We’re not going to lie, that paint ammo can tickle – but half the fun is comparing battle bruises on the beach…
Bunker Indoor Paintball is located at Carrer Setze de Juliol, 56, in nearby Palma, and is open 10am-8pm every day. (March to October.)
Go Karting – Oh Yeah!
Getting on a Go Kart track is the best way to get out all that road rage frustration you’ve been keeping pent up all year! And when you’re out there with a bunch of mates, it’s all the more fun – especially if you’ve got some secret vendettas to take care of. The course at Magaluf Karting keeps you on your toes, with loads of twists, turns, corners and tight bends where you can run your mates off the track. Leave your manners at the beach bar and try getting to the top of the leaderboard! All the circuits are professionally timed, so put your money where your mouth is and you mightn’t have to pay for another drink all holiday.
Magaluf Karting is open every day from 10am-7pm. Located at Ctra. de la Porrassa, packages start at €22 for individuals and €60 for group F1 sensations.
Journey to the Bottom of the Sea
But not too far, don’t worry! Magaluf is a great place to try out diving for the first time – so if you’ve always wanted see what’s ‘down there’, here’s the place and now’s the time. Lay off the beers the night before, though, as you’ll need your wits about you.
If you’re an experienced diver you’ll be set, but even absolute beginners are taken care of by the guys at Big Blue Diving. You’ll be able to learn the basics at your own pace, then set out on some organised dives to some of the amazing sites offshore from Magaluf and Palma. (You can read this blog post for some more info on this.) Once you’ve got your sea lungs you can even hire a digital camera to get some selfie shots with rays, underwater caves and shallow wrecks – way to make ‘them back home’ well jell!
Big Blue Diving is at Son Matias beach. You can book a training course, organised dive, or hire out diving and safety equipment if you’re experienced. Open every day from 9am-6pm.
Head to Kathmandu
No, not that one! We’re talking Kathmandu, Magaluf-style – and you better believe this one’s a lot more fun than climbing the massive mountains in Nepal! You don’t even have to take our word for it, because Kathmandu Park has actually been voted the best amusement park in Spain – and you won’t have any trouble seeing why, even with those squinty, early-morning holiday eyes.
With everything from rollercoasters (you know you love ’em), water slides, 4D cinema shows, laser shooting games and live music, this makes for a huge day out. Look out for the interactive Desperados, where you can make like a cowboy on a scarily real horseback ride, and The Asylum, where the 5D horrors are even more scarily real! Oh, and if you actually do fancy yourself as a mountaineer, you can take on the K3 climb for a little taster of what you might find if you do ever get to Nepal. A word of warning, if you’re afraid of heights… Don’t. Look. Down.

Best of the Beaches
The above attractions give you an idea of what’s on offer to fill your days, but there’s always the option of doing what comes naturally. Nothing! The beaches here are out of this world and spending a few hours working on your tan with nothing more strenuous than a walk a few metres to take a dip is a pretty good way to spend a day – or three. The main beaches around Magaulf are:

- Playa Palma Nova
So if you’re happy to do nothing, get busy! But if you find some energy (perhaps after liquid lunchtime) you can also get into a bunch of water sports, like:
- Kite surfing
- Paddlebaording
- Jet-skiing
- Banana boat rides and ringos
- Snorkelling
- Parascending
- Fly bus
- Pedaloes
- And all the other ‘usual suspects’…
As you can see, there’s plenty of big boy fun to be had in Magaluf – and, by the way, in case you didn’t notice, none of them require an early start. You’re welcome.
How to Get to Magaluf from Palma Airport
You won’t have to waste too much of your valuable holiday time travelling, as flights from the UK to Mallorca take under two and a half hours. You’ll fly into Palma Mallorca Airport and, from there, getting to your accommodation in Magaluf is simple.
Taking only about 25 minutes by road, Palma airport transfers with Shuttle Direct will have you settled in with a beer on the beach in next to no time.
