So you’re going on holiday to Kavos on Greece’s island of Corfu: you’ve packed your towel and suntan lotion, your best party shirt and dancing trainers and you’re ready to go. But have you thought about what you’re actually going to do when you get there?
The party holiday of a lifetime is going to take a little bit of planning if you want to be sure of hitting the best clubs on the best nights, soaking up the sun on the best beaches and getting your grub at the best (and cheapest) places to eat.

Nightlife
First things first, you wouldn’t be coming to Kavos if you didn’t like extreme partying because, from foam parties and big name DJs to all-day pool parties and booze cruises, partying is at the heart of everything in Kavos during the summer months.
Most of the activity in the resort centres around the main strip where bars do their best to lure in early drinkers with promises of two-for-one offers and free club entry.
Bars
One of the nice things about Kavos is that there aren’t hundreds of bars like in other resorts, so if you’re meeting up with mates (new or old) you’re likely to bump into them in one of the bars along the strip.
Some old favourites to check out include:
- Barn Bar – great if there’s a sporting event on
- Scorers – as the name suggests, a sports bar with an emphasis on football
- Snobs – banging tunes and a great atmosphere
- Eidelweiss – famous for its crazy atmosphere and setting the bar on fire!
Clubs
Kavos attracts a similar line-up of world-famous DJs as resorts like Ibiza but without the huge prices and too-cool-for-you attitude. Regular clubs include Future Club, Club S’ex and Limelights while superclubs Ministry of Sound and Cream step in for massive one-off club nights throughout the season. DJ highlights for the 2017 season include Hannah Wants, Sigala and Nathan Dawe.
Food
We all know that the best idea is to cook in your apartment and save your euros for your big nights out but sometimes, with a hangover throbbing, only a full English breakfast or good curry cooked by someone else will do.
In Kavos you can get your choice of food – whether you want to sample the local souvlaki (relax, it’s nothing weird, just a Greek version of a kebab), some good old pub grub or a huge curry to enjoy with your mates, it’s all here if you know where to find it.

- Falconera Restaurant – any restaurant that has its own hammocks is good with me
- The Drunken Squid – get the party started and yourself fed at the same time at this Mexican food restaurant
- The Oven Pub – home is where the heart is and here you’ll find all your British favourites from steak and chips to curry
Activities
If you can manage any activities during the day you’re probably not partying hard enough, but if you do feel up to a little adventure there is a full range of watersports offered from Kavos beach. Try jet skiing, parasailing, inflatables, waterskiing, donut rides, bungee and catapulting. Whether you and your mates feel up to speed boat rides after a full night out is between you and your hangover.
What to Watch out For
Wherever there are large groups of inebriated tourists there are always going to be undesirables looking to take advantage – Kavos is no different. There is a problem with pick pocketing here (often by the touts trying to sell on the beach or when you walk through town).
As ever there are the crowds of pushy reps trying to get you into the local bars. This can be annoying, but before you lose your temper it can be worth hearing them out as they often offer free drinks (just make sure when you get in the bar that you’re getting what you pay for).
How to Budget Your Holiday
Kavos is surprisingly cheaper than many other partying holiday hotspots so for a good week away (without too much budgeting) you should be looking to spend around 750€.
Drinking in Kavos isn’t too expensive, with a bottle of beer costing around €2.50 in a bar and up to €4 in a club. Other alcohol – like the famous local Headf*cker cocktail – is likely to cost around €5.
Clubbing is actively cheap compared to places with similar DJ-line ups, with ticket prices ranging from €20-35. There are also plenty of beach clubs which are free to get into and, like the clubs, run through until 9am.
How to Get to Kavos
Getting to Kavos is easy, with a range of budget airlines flying regularly from the UK into Corfu Airport. The flight takes around three hours, and the airport transfer to the resort another hour after that.
