Drinks & Discos: Raising the Roof in Lloret de Mar’s Clubs

Did someone say party on the Costa Brava? Well, yes – if you’re planning a trip to Lloret de Mar, they certainly did! Renowned for its year-round fabulous weather and beautiful beaches, this bustling resort also has one of the liveliest nightlife scenes outside of Barcelona and Ibiza.

What could be better than moving and grooving all night then collapsing on the beach in a fabulously sun-tanned heap during the day? If your answer is a resounding “nothing”, it’s time to pack your bat, ball and dancing shoes and get yourself there.

Get your Groove On

There’s certainly no shortage of clubs and pubs where you can get your groove on. But instead of wasting precious party time with the B crowd, here are some insider tips for the very best venues to hit up after dark. You can thank us in the morning…

Bumpers

There’s a good chance the name might give it away, but here’s your warning: this place gets packed out and pumping! But isn’t that just the way you like it? Against a soundtrack of the latest tunes, you’ll be able to throw your hands in the air like you just don’t care with hundreds of other happy, sunburnt punters. Drinks aren’t the cheapest but you probably won’t notice after the first three…

Ambience: relaxed, casual and a little sweaty.

La Siesta

For those rare nights when you want to raise the cultural bar instead of the literal one, sit back, relax and let someone do the dancing at this traditional Spanish restaurant, set in a 17th-century Catalan farmhouse. With live music, fantastic food and lively Flamenco dancers to keep you entertained (you might even get some dance tips for the clubs later on in the evening), La Siesta offers incredible views from the terrace and a 150m2 stage for the fabulous Flamenco shows.

Ambience: Flamenco hot, hot hot!

Hollywood Disco Club

If you’re not shy of a cover charge and a little naked flesh from the lingerie-clad go-go girls and adult-themed striptease shows, this is a fun place to come with a group of friends to dance the night away. While the Hollywood theme is a bit of a mystery, the club offers good music, a great range of drinks and a fun, relaxed atmosphere.

Ambience: More tease than sleaze.

The Londoner

Again with the theme that’s not really a theme, the Londoner certainly isn’t your old English pub type establishment, because there’s really no mistaking you’re in club land! This place is hot in every sense of the word, so if you’re looking for pumping tunes, scanty clothing and sweaty bodies jostling for space on the dance floor, you’re home. There’s a cover charge to get in, but that includes a couple of drink tickets to get you started.

Ambience: Classic clubbing.

Disco Tropics

Spread over 135m2 of luxury leisure space, Disco Tropics is the ultimate party destination, with multiple rooms dedicated to the latest music, lighting and sound technology. If you’re serious about clubbing on the Costa Brava, this is the place to see and be seen. With a massive capacity across its four separate spaces, Disco Tropics features international artists, exclusive private rooms and as much party as you can handle.

Ambience: More, more, more!

Revolution

An institution since 1968, Revolution continues to live up to its name every night of the week, with foam parties, go-go shows, five bars, a VIP area, world class international DJs, VIP guest stars, megatron effect and the most mind blowing hi-tech laser lighting in Europe. With packed-in capacity of 2,500 punters it’s the biggest and, undeniably, the best club on the Costa Brava. Dress to impress and keep an eye out for celebs.

Ambience: Disco with a techno edge.
