The Six Nations Rugby Tournament takes place from February 6 to March 21. This is the most important rugby tournament of the season, involving England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, France, and Italy National Teams. This competition helps teams prepare for the upcoming Rugby World Cup coming up in seven months.
This year’s battle to dominate the Northern Hemisphere is tougher than ever and dominance is hard to predict. Scotland and Italy sides have long been considered this Tournament’s ‘Cinderellas’, but this year, they are coming up strong.
The Tournament has been held since 1883, and it was initially disputed among the United Kingdom’s Four Nations. France was permanently included in 1947, and Italy in the year 2000, reason for the Tournament’s current name.
England and Wales are leaders of this competition, having 26 winning titles each. Up to date, Italy has not won any title, and its best place has been fourth. This country does not expect to take home the “Wooden Spoon” again, an award given to the team that does not score any points and that the ‘Azzurri’ won last year.

Friday, February 6:
Wales-England. The match took place in Cardiff at 8:05PM GMT, with a victory for England. The ‘Dragons’ were winning against England during the first ten minutes, but the ‘Rose’ side turned the match around to its favour 16-21.
Saturday, February 7:
Italy-Ireland. Ireland beat Azzurri side in Rome. What at the beginning of the match was a tough victory for Ireland, ended up being a comfortable 3-26 win.
France-Scotland. France beat Scotland in Paris in a close victory. The match final score was a tight 15-8, with the French beating the ‘Thistle’ side, and getting ready to move ahead to Dublin next week.
