Crunch Your Way Through Calella’s Restaurants

If you’re hungry for a warm-weather holiday destination that’s absolutely filled to the brim with renowned restaurants offering a whole host of delicious dishes, you need look no further than sunny, sandy, savoury Calella. This Spanish paradise is ideally located in the Costa Brava. It sits right on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, meaning its seafood is out of this world and its eateries often serve fresh catches of the day. Meat and veg sourced from the mountains nearby are also common culinary inclusions.

Calella’s restaurants are incredibly diverse, making it a good spot for anyone looking for a variety of different places to eat. Whether you’re looking for somewhere trendy and relaxed or somewhere boisterous and rowdy, you’ll be sure to find an eatery to suit your liking. All sorts of tastes are catered to as well, be it cautious eaters who like to stick to English pub food or foreign feasters who want to try traditional Spanish tapas – or even see what an Italian meal is like in Spain!

Read on for some of the area’s best restaurants.

Gringo Joes

If you’re feeling a little homesick while in Calella, you need only to pop into Gringo Joes to feel like you’re back in the UK. The venue itself has an accurate British pub atmosphere, complete with dark wooden walls and tellies playing live sports matches. Whether you’re craving a pint or a full English, you’ll be able to find it here.

Restaurante Molina Campos

Restaurante Molina Campos gives a whole new meaning to the word ‘tapas’. This restaurant serves traditional Spanish fare with a twist – the chef has come up with some truly ingenious variations. It is incredibly budget-friendly here and, with a menu that is always changing, you can guarantee that each visit will be truly unique.

Tropical Filo

For a taste of Spain and Italy, have a meal at Tropical Filo. This restaurant serves foods from both of the aforementioned countries, such as tapas, paella, homemade panna cotta and traditional Italian dishes.

Macanudo – Sabor Argentino

Want to trade Spain for Argentina for an evening? Your best bet is Macanudo – Sabor Argentino, located just off Calella’s central shopping strip. Here you can try traditional Argentinian dishes such as empanadas (pasties stuffed with meat) and steak fillets flavoured with unusual spices.

Capriccio Freddo

Head down to Capriccio Freddo after your meal for a tasty treat to satisfy your sweet tooth. This ice creamery is known for its truly unique flavours and free samples – which is a good thing, because you’ll likely want to try citrus and celery ice cream before you commit to ordering a scoop.
