This post will give you the lowdown on the best spots in this beautiful resort for the perfect night out. From chilled wine bars and cheese to crammed clubs and yells of “shots, shots, shots!” Morzine nightlife really does have something for everyone.
Après Ski
As the skiing scene winds down in Morzine, the party is just beginning. Head to one of these brilliant après-ski spots to enjoy a well-earned pint, meet other travellers and get the party started.

Bar Robinsons
Bar Robinsons, or Robbos as it is affectionately known, is one of the most popular places to grab a pint in the resort. People come here for good beer and a good time and as the only beer on tap is Mutzig, and at 8% you are guaranteed a good time.
Bar Robinsons can be found on the Rue du Bourg and is open 8am – 8pm Monday to Saturday.

Chez Roger’s
Further along the Rue du Bourg you’ll stumble – perhaps literally if you’ve had a few pints of Mutzig – across Chez Roger’s. Perfect for a pre-dinner drink, Chez Roger’s serves its cheap and cheerful tipples with delicious cheesy nachos.
Wine Bars
Keep it classy by spending an evening at one of Morzine’s lovely wine bars.

Le Coup de Coeur
My suggestion for a sophisticated evening of wine and cheese is Le Coup de Coeur Wine Bar in La Chamade restaurant. You can enjoy the views from their heated terrace whilst you sample delicious local wines and cheeses. They have a friendly team of sommeliers, so if you are not a vino expert make sure you benefit from their superior knowledge.
Le Coup de Coeur is on the Route de la Plagne.
Top Tip: Le Coup de Coeur is perfectly placed to watch the sun set behind the mountains. Time your visit well and raise a glass to the stunning vista.
Live Music
There is nothing quite like live music and in Morzine you can track it down pretty much every day of the week. Here are a couple of options.

Inferno Terrace Bar
An important part of Morzine nightlife, Inferno up on the Nyon plateau is known for funky live music and big parties. Think dancing on tables in your ski gear, bands playing from a double-decker bus and a two and a half hour long Happy Hour.
The party kicks off at 3 pm and continues till late.

Dixie Bar
Here you can catch the great Irish band the Dixie Micks playing up a storm with a classic Irish jig. The Dixie Bar actually has three bars, with Irish, English and Spanish options serving an eclectic mix of Guinness, tapas and San Miguel next to pool tables and live football on TV.
Top Tip: If you are sports mad this is the place to see the big game when you are away. A great atmosphere, always.
Late Nights
Though lots of the places I’ve already mentioned stay open until late in the evening, there are some that just don’t want the party to stop, so provide live music or great DJs for those wanting to dance the night away.

The Cavern
As the most popular nightclub in Morzine, The Cavern gets fairly busy, especially on Wednesdays when the chalet and hotel staff have a night off. These are the most fun nights to visit and let your hair down. Dancers are entertained by a live DJ, as well as big matches and ski films shown on big screens.
The Cavern is open everyday from 4pm to 2am in the winter.
Top Tip: Happy Hour runs from 4pm to 6pm.

L’Opera Nightclub
If you don’t want to sleep until the sun has risen, end your night at L’Opera. This is a proper nightclub, rather than a bar, and doesn’t close its doors until 5am. Probably not one to go to if you actually want to ski the next morning, but definitely good for a boogie.
L’Opera opens at 12.30am.
Where to Stay
Hideout Hostel – This bright and stylish hostel offers clean and comfortable rooms just 650 yards from TC Super Morzine Ski Lift. Set in the main town, the hostel is ideal for those wanting to sample the local nightlife: its own relaxed bar is a great place to start any night out.
Hotel Le Sporting – Close to the centre of the resort the mountain-style, en-suite rooms at Hotel Le Sporting are a good base if you want to explore the town. The staff are friendly, and the hotel has loads of amenities, like a pool and sauna and televisions in every room.
How to Get There
The easiest way to get to Morzine is to fly into Geneva Airport (GVA). From London, the flight is roughly one and a half hours and there is plenty of choice as there are over 150 flights each week.
Once you reach Geneva, you’ll need a transfer to Morzine. This will take around an hour and a half by road. I recommend using Shuttle Direct’s transfer service as they are reliable, and their shared shuttle bus is great value for money.
