Discovering Dubai from Sunrise to Sunset: Our Tips

Whether you’re into hands-on exploration or laid-back browsing, there are so many ways to enjoy the wonders of Dubai. This bustling city full of rich history and ultramodern culture is the dream escape for avid adventurers and luxury travellers. Here are some top tips (and a fantastic infographic) on how to spend your first day in Dubai.

Explore Its Diversity

The first thing you will notice about Dubai is the diversity of its residents. Astonishingly, just 11.5% of the population are Emiratis – you’ll find over 200 other nationalities living here as well. With the city’s population growing by 5% each year, there’s no doubt that it is a place of huge importance when it comes to economic and cultural development.

To delve into the modernisms of the city, I recommend heading to Alserkal Avenue to truly appreciate the magnitude of creative flare that Dubai has to offer. This art district is full of impressive galleries that have been converted from warehouses, and is home to some truly spectacular creations.

Relive Its History

Experience Dubai’s past by visiting some of its most authentic tourist attractions – the heritage and diving villages are the perfect place to start. Potters and weavers sell their wares in the heritage villages and you can watch as they work on their next masterpieces. The diving villages display unique exhibits and teach you all about the pearling industry (you can even try pearl diving for yourself).

Dubai Museum was built in 1787 and is the city’s oldest-standing building. It’s the ideal place to visit if you’re keen to immerse yourself in history; you can learn the history of Dubai through interesting artefacts and videos.

And…Relax

There are a wealth of options in this glamorous city when it comes to relaxation – choose from various hotel spas offering both traditional and innovative luxury treatments, or enjoy a high-class dinner cruise on an authentic dhow boat. If you’d rather stay in the city during the evenings, head to Madinat Theatre to catch a film screening, opera or musical.

Dubai is calling! Enjoy a holiday full of culture that is completely unique; you definitely won’t forget it.
