Discover Sitges’ Nightlife and its 4 Best Places to Party Hard!

Sitges is located just a short drive from Barcelona, and is popular with holidaymakers who are attracted by the cosmopolitan culture and legendary weather of the region, while searching something a little quieter and often more affordable than Barcelona for their stay. It’s not just popular for its proximity to the Catalan capital, however: as its tourist trade has built over the years, Sitges has developed into a thriving town with a fantastic gay-friendly holiday atmosphere and some of the finest nightlife in the country.

You’ll likely spend your days wandering Sitges’ charming streets, lounging on the beach or strolling along its magnificent waterfront promenade, and you’ll find many a restaurant and café where you can enjoy a meal or a cool drink in the shade.

However, Sitges gains a whole new lease on life after dark, when people flock to the town’s buzzing bar and club scene to blow off steam.

The Organic Club

Veterans of Sitges’ gay nightlife will remember this venue as the Trailer: it’s one of Spain’s longest running gay clubs. While it opens at just before midnight, it doesn’t really start to fill up until around three o’clock in the morning, which is when many of the city’s venues close and partygoers start to search for late-night venues.

The Organic Club is loads of fun any night of the week (it closes at 6am every day), but if you fancy something a little different, it does widely renowned foam parties on Wednesdays and Sundays! These are great for a bit of silly fun, although bear in mind that you will get soaked – so dress for it (a sealable, waterproof bag for your valuables is a must)!

Privilege Dance Bar

While the Organic Club starts to hit its stride in the small hours, Privilege tends to heat up a little earlier in the night, making it a good place to hit if you want to get the night going but it’s still relatively early. Privilege’s largely young, fashionable crowd fill up the dancefloor at around midnight most days.

The floor is kept moving by a unique, upbeat mix of classic disco and Ibiza beats, giving it a fantastic, familiar-yet-fresh atmosphere. A must for any nightlife enthusiasts.

Why Not? Bar

For a slightly more low-key atmosphere, try this charming bar. The staff are wonderful and the drinks spot-on, but the real jewel of this nightspot would have to be its roof terrace. Many a memorable evening has begun by winding down on a warm evening atop this beachside venue.

Beso Bar

If you want to feel the party atmosphere from the very centre of town, try Beso Bar. Its location is enviable, and it’s open until 3am every day, making it the perfect prelude to a night at the Organic Club.

What’s more, Beso’s soaring popularity has given it quite the name, meaning that it frequently plays host to prestigious venues and famous DJs. Quite simply, one of the best bars in the region.

Where to Stay

Galeon – This hotel is considered one of the best value places to stay in all of Sitges, and it’s true: you get an awful lot for your money. The food is excellent and the rooms well-maintained and comfortable. There is also a rooftop hot tub accessible to those in VIP rooms, while the central location (a couple of minutes’ walk to both Sitges station and the beach) is unbeatable.

Ribera Beach – If you prefer the privacy of renting an apartment, I highly recommend these stunning flats. All of them are air-conditioned and boast a terrace or balcony overlooking the beach, but what’s truly amazing are these apartments’ interiors: the décor is airy, contemporary, bright and all around beautiful. Highly recommended for those who like a good, comfortable point from which to base their holiday.

La Santa Maria – Another excellent value hotel, La Santa Maria offers downright magical views from its delicious restaurants, and also has the advantage of occupying a beautiful listed building in the heart of Sitges. Every room has a stunning view, overlooking Sitges itself, the nearby mountains or the ocean.
