Sophie Lauder studied Classics at Oxford University, which took her all over Europe in search of ruined temples and intriguing artefacts. She worked on an archaeological dig on the slopes of Vesuvius, spent a month in Rome uncovering the hidden layers of the city and learnt about Greek tragedy at the ancient theatre of Epidaurus. As well as travelling, her passions include watching films, playing board games and getting out and about in nature.
