A place like Playa del Inglés is made for relaxing. This beach resort is known for its sun-soaked beaches, warm waters and gorgeous scenery. Whether you’re coming to Playa del Inglés to decompress from the workday grind or simply to get a tan, here are three ways to relax in this lovely beach town.
Pamper Yourself at the Spa
Looking to give your mind and body a little TLC? Playa del Inglés has several spas and wellness centres that can help you achieve total bliss!
Try Namaste Wellness, Health and Beauty for rejuvenating deep tissue massages or a skin-renewing peel and hydration treatment. Massage Gran Canaria offers sport, hot stone and four-hands massages, along with the tempting hot chocolate couples massage!
Go Shopping at the Yumbo Centre
If retail therapy is what you’re after, head over to the Yumbo Centre on Avenue Estados Unidos. This sprawling commercial complex houses over 200 shops, bars, and restaurants.
Treat yourself to a new watch or necklace at Shiv Jewellery or a snazzy pair of shoes at Dress Code. Have an ice cream cone at C’est la Vie, or browse the gadgets at Visanta Electronics. For dinner, choose from the centre’s many restaurants, serving up everything from pizza to tapas. Afterword, visit Ricky’s to take in a cabaret and comedy show.

Walk the Paseo Costa Canaria
To enjoy the beautiful coastline away from the crowds at the beach, try the Paseo Costa Canaria. Translated literally as “coast path”, this pedestrian walkway stretches from Playa de las Burras to the Maspalomas Dunes, passing right through Playa del Inglés. The path is lined with tropical plants and stunning oceanfront villas. An easy, flat stroll, you can walk the whole of the Paseo Costa Canaria in about 45 minutes.
How to Get to Playa del Inglés
To get to Playa del Inglés, you’re best off travelling by air. British Airways and Norwegian Air both run non-stop flights from Heathrow and Gatwick, respectively, to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria airport, and flights can be quite reasonably priced if you’re booking well ahead.
Once you’ve landed in sunny Gran Canaria, you’re only a 20-minute drive from Playa del Inglés. If you’re planning to rent a car during your holiday, there are several rental desks in the airport terminal. Simply drive along the GC-1, which hugs the island’s coastline, in order to get to Playa del Inglés.
Alternatively, Gran Canaria transfers are available from Shuttle Direct. With just a few clicks, you can book a private or shared shuttle to take you directly to your accommodation in Playa del Inglés. After all, on a holiday built around relaxation, why not skip the hassle and arrive refreshed?
