It’s this excellent situation that makes it such a popular destination amongst travellers who are looking for a balance of laid-back beach days and exploration. There are plenty of cultural gems nearby to discover, plus some great hiking trails for those who like to stay active while on holiday.
Here’s a sample itinerary to give you a taste of what’s in store during a stay in beautiful Cala Blanca.
Day One – Resort Relaxation
Spend your first day getting to know the stunning surroundings and taking advantage of all that this top-class destination has to offer. This means a visit to the resort’s intimate beach, where the curved shape and small size provide a sense of privacy; you’ll feel like a local while sunbathing on the soft sand! The shore is lined with dramatic cliffs, which serve to add to the panoramic beauty of the place. I would definitely recommend some gentle exploring of the local archaeological sites to learn a bit about the history of this coastline, and you could end the day by watching the sunset at Caballeria Cape, a viewpoint offering breathtaking views over the northern coast.
Day Two – Visit Ciutadella
A day trip to the charming city of Ciutadella is a must during your stay in the area. It claims to be the prettiest town in Menorca, and I’d agree that it has a fairly strong stake to that claim! There are plenty of sites to see, such as the busy port, which houses expensive yachts and little fishing boats, and the impressive Gothic cathedral that offers cool respite from the heat of the sun. However, it’s also nice to just go with the flow and wander around the picture-perfect streets, soaking up the wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. Stop for lunch at one of the many restaurants dotted around the harbour and enjoy the day’s fresh catch!
Day Three – Take a Hike!
I personally love to include some activity in my holidays, and a hike out into the local nature is always perfect. There are loads of great routes to explore around Cala Blanca, ranging from easy to expert level, depending on your energy on the day.
I would suggest starting with the gentle but oh-so-pretty Bucht – Platja des Castellot loop from Santa Ponça. The paths here are very easily accessible, it’s the most suitable route for all skill levels, and you’ll have sparkling sea views during the whole walk. What more could you ask for?

How to Get There:
Flights from the UK to Mahón Menorca Airport (MAH) are popular, so you’ll find plenty of options throughout the year, however, prices do vary depending on the season. The best deals are during October when prices can be as low as £40. February is the most expensive time to travel with flights costing £83 on average. Choose from airlines such as Easyjet, Jet2, Ryanair and plenty more.
I always recommend that visitors pre-book an airport transfer from Menorca Airport to Cala Blanca.
